LECTURES AND LESSONS:- CLOSE-UP MAGIC People are always amazed by close-up or Table-Top magic, and always want to know “how its done”. After teaching the Managing Director of “Mars” a close-up trick for their promotional video “The Magic of Mars”, Rick decided to “conjure up” a couple of close up lectures. All the tricks have been carefully selected to give people an appreciation of some of the principles of magic. Simply knowing how a trick is done is not enough however, so Rick will show how the real art of magic lies in the way the trick is presented. He will teach the art of misdirection, patter and showmanship with each trick, using everyday objects that everyone can find. Rick presents both his lectures, Table Top Trickery and More Table Tops, More Trickery, with humour and enthusiasm, making it a thoroughly entertaining and amusing experience. Video notes are available at the end of both lectures, with all the tricks demonstrated and explained clearly. ORIGAMI Joanna not only works in her capacity as Rick’s assistant, but is also able to present four lectures on origami and paper flower making. Joanna has taught these classes with great success on cruise ships and is always requested by passengers to do more. The appeal of the origami is not just the fun and entertainment value, but the fact that at the end of the class they walk away with something they have made. Joanna will show how to make Flowers and Lei’s (Garlands) Origami 1. Lilies/Daffodils 2. Star boxes 3. Birds /Animals 4. Gift boxes with decorative ribbons.
